Have You Been Injured by a Dog Bite?

We are your Pensacola Dog Bite Lawyers.

Dog bites are a gruesome reality in today’s society. Not surprisingly, the vast majority of victims of serious dog attacks are children.

For this reason, it’s imperative to teach your children important safety rules when approaching a strange dog.

This video provides safety tips for preventing dog bites. This information is courtesy of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Florida State Law and Dog Bites

Under Florida law, the owner of any dog that bites a person in a public place, or on a person lawfully in a private place, including the dog owner’s property, is automatically responsible for the injuries sustained by persons bitten, regardless of the former viciousness of the dog or the dog owner’s knowledge of such viciousness. However, the owner is not automatically liable, except to children under age 6, or unless the owner was negligent, if the owner displayed a sign easily readable including the words “Bad Dog” in a prominent place on his or her premises.
