Police Need Help in Pensacola Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run occurred on March 30, 2018 in Pensacola, and the Florida Highway Patrol is looking for help in catching the perpetrator. Law enforcement says that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash rather than staying on scene to speak with responders.

According to reports, a 2013 Nissan Altima was rear-ended at the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and West Fairfield Drive. The vehicle that hit the Nissan was a Chevrolet TrailBlazer. The SUV should have damage to its front end. Also, silver paint may be embedded in the damage.

The accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle that was struck pulled into a nearby parking lot and called the police. She waited at the scene to provide information to officers. The woman was not injured in the accident nor was her passenger.

The suspected driver is described as an African-American man with dreadlocks. The SUV he was driving is burgundy in color. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information should phone Trooper Vennell at 850-484-5000.
